Last week I came across a new Kickstarter project that I really liked the look of. It was World Architect Cards by Simian Circle Games. The project has already surpassed its modest goal of $2,500, and is well on its way to unlocking its many stretch goals.
The project is a deck of cards for world building, perfect for GMs to use to create their campaign world ahead of time, or to come up with ideas on the fly. As you’ll see in the video below, each card represents a terrain type or feature, and has artwork, some keywords and random weather options to inspire you.
Another thing I like about this project is its pledge options that cater for both physical and digital rewards, with the digital rewards not punishing backers who can’t get or don’t want the physical rewards for whatever reason. For a pledge of $15, you can get PDFs of both these new World Architect Cards as well as their previous project, Dungeon Architect Cards. If you do want a physical deck of the cards, those pledges start at $20 plus $13 for international shipping.
The best part about this project is that the cards are already complete and ready to be printed, so there’s not too much of a wait time between paying and getting your rewards – digital rewards are estimated for May 2016. I can’t wait to get my hands on these cards!
